Burano *pics* (vacation entry #8)

Dear Diary,

I have been to Burano once before when Keith and I visited Italy for our honeymoon in 2006.  Burano definitely tops my list of favorite places…..  This was my first glance of it as the water taxi approached…..

When I was there in 2006 I bought a water color painting of Burano from this store….

I liked these little house knick knacks….

A precious little table for two….

A view of one of the canals filled with little boats…

Lace work is what this marsh island is known for…

Another cute area for dinning…

precious!

This is another one of those places where you can’t take a bad picture…

I have high hopes that when I visit Montmarte in Paris that I’ll love it there like I love it in Burano….

I remember these umbrellas from my last visit….

love the yellow quilt that is hanging there…..

gelato!

limoncello…..

a tiny fruit and flower stand…

This nook was some what tucked away from the main tourist flow.  I like the pinks / yellows and the weathered building combination….

so pretty!

It was a bit chilly this afternoon and I had the best hot chocolate from here…..

Not long after this I re-boarded the water taxi to return to Venice.  Way out in the marsh waters we passed this group of  gondola like racers….??

reentering Venice…..

Some of these I open up and they take my breath away a bit which surprises me since I was there. It doesn’t seem like they could have the effect…..

I like the little shop along the bottom is lit up here…

And catching the train from Venice back to the hotel was the last official vacation picture….

You deserve a pat on the back if you made it through all those vacation entries!  This past weekend I finished up the three scrapbooks that house all the trip pictures.  I did one book for Venice, one for the cruise and then a third for Greece.  I took something like 1200 pictures (1400?, can’t remember exactly)  I ended up purchasing about 400 pics for the scrapbooks.  Combined with other trip memorabilia I think it is about 130 pages total.

Anyway, at some point I’ll be back with the scrapbook share but I will most likely share some Fall stuff that I’ve skimmed over while sharing trip pictures.  There isn’t a lot but I probably should catch up on it here.

Happy Wednesday!

We’ve been to Venice several times but never went here or to the island that does the glass blowing. If we go to Venice again I am making sure we go!! So glad you had a wonderful time!

The vibrant colors of the places in Venice are amazing!!!! You captured them very well! Thank you for sharing your trip! I made it through!! YAY!!! Now onto more entries! 🙂 *HUGS*

All the buildings are so bright and cheery. I love it! It’s nice that you’ve been able to scrap so well as you go! What a nice feeling that is, especially while everything is so fresh in your mind. Ashley
