From here to utopia

If you want to know what kids will be like in Israel in 250+ years, just look at American children.

Genocide won’t just go away if every Palestinian is killed, or even if they’re just castrated to the point of reservation systems like America. No, the poison will seep into the blood of every generation built thereafter. And when everyone thinks they’re finally safe from the “savage,” that poison will play its final act… And make the ancestors of genociders turn so confused they begin to murder their own kin without reason.

Now, I’ll admit that’s a bit of a stretch to correlate even. A lot can change over years, much more over centuries.

But these cycles are cycles for a reason. We keep choosing the same paths. As if, when every so-many-decades pass, the banana phone of history shows our collective memories are all flawed. So we try to write these memories down but even that’s flawed. So how are we to escape these cycles if we cannot pass along this vital story…

It’s the same story that any one has ever said, from the poets to the workers to the politicians…

That things cannot go on like this.

And even though they have somehow managed to keep repeating the cycles… We are at an impasse now.

Between the earth, and the people, and the violence… Something has to give.

I cannot fathom how indefinitely fucked our children will be. We are making mistakes we cannot undo.
