On becoming dangerous Pt. 1
As a straight, white man who has lived with a pain disorder my entire life, I empathize with the issues trans- and Two Spirit peoples struggle with. I have lived with constant pain my entire life- I understand what its like to constantly be uncomfortable in your own body and I understand the desire to be in a body of different form. That isn’t to say I understand exactly what these individuals and communities experience or feel, and I certainly benefit from my skin color and being a man, that I am not ridiculed and marginalized by my society and culture. HOWEVER, I cannot stay silent anymore longer. I stand with these peoples and communities and align myself with their beliefs, ideals and goals. I believe all humans and animals are born with innate freedoms that cannot be stripped away or limited by pieces of paper. We all deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, integrity, and to actualize our own autonomies. Until these ideals are realized for all humans and animals on earth, humanity is destined to walk a path paved in blood, crushed bone, and scorched earth. If you believe there is a better way, please speak about it. We cannot stay quiet any longer. We need the movers and shakers of this world to step up now more than ever.
Thank you.
@ghostdancer you are very welcome.
