Castlefest

Last Saturday I went to Castlefest. This is a gothic/fantasy/pagan/medieval fair with people selling goods, re-enactors and music. It is about the same as the Elf Fantasy Fair only here the focus was more on music and one big advantage was that it lasted longer. The band the Transylvanians was surprisingly good and of course Omnia was the big closing act. They also combined their act with the burning of the Wickerman as an offer to the sun god. After already have walked around for about 6 hours I ran into my brother and his girlfriend. In hindsight it seemed obvious that we would both be there, since we’re into the same things. We hadn’t arranged to meet, however. This was a pleasant surprise.
