I don’t think I’ve ever been MIA for nearly 4 mos.

I have not written since December 5th. Holy cow! An immense amount has happened in between then and now, and since I have been forced to slow down via emergency surgery, I suppose I should utilize this time to catch everyone up. If anyone still reads this thing!

Before I back track too much, I started having abdominal pain on Monday the 18th, but chalked it up to ovulation pains because I was due to ovulate that day. They continued through the week, and I chalked it up to constipation (which has never happened to me before) because I was having a hard time having a bowel movement and passing gas. Very odd for me. Well, fast forward to the next Monday, and I was in so much pain that just breathing or bending over made me want to cry. Walking made me feel like something was going to fall out. After much scolding from my BFF, I decided to try to get out of work to head to the ER.

Getting out of work was a fiasco, but I managed it, and thankfully so, because I ended up having my appendix removed the next morning. It was quite a weird case, however, because 2 CAT scans were inconclusive as far as determining whether or not it was my appendix. However, it did show that I had multiple cysts of my ovaries. After a long discussion with the surgeon, I opted to assume it was my appendix, despite my white blood cells being normal and the CAT scans being rather vague. It was fortunate I did so, as by the time I was being prepped for surgery, I had developed a fever (infection) and turns out that not only was it my appendix, but my colon was severely inflamed and cause an infection between my colon and my abdominal wall.

I was released from the hospital the next afternoon, and I’ve been having a difficult time "relaxing" since coming home. I’ve had an immense amount of help from my amazing boyfriend (I’ll get to THAT update!) along with my amazing babysitter (the woman who is basically my second mother, and has been since I was 8), but it’s still hard for me to just slow down, let alone basically be an invalid. Today is the first day I’m home with the kids alone, and it’s been difficult. I’m not able to do as much as I want, but they’re being fed so atleast they’ll be alive? Just kidding… 😉

My follow up with the surgeon is next Wednesday. I’ll have to be referred to a gastro doctor to check out what’s going on with my colon. Yay for a colonoscopy. (NOT!) And I’m assuming he’ll tell me I can return to work that Friday. Fingers crossed!

Anywho…

I have an AMAZING boyfriend.

I think I’ve mentioned him once or twice in here. We met through Visalus in June of last year and became good friends, then started "seriously" dating in November. We;ve moved kind of fast, because earlier this month we moved into this.

It’s been absolutely amazing living with this man. I literally could not have dreamt of a better man than Henry. He is amazing with my kids, incredibly sweet, attentive, kind, considerate, hard working, affectionate, has had extremely similar relationship issues in the past, he cooks, he cleans, he’s sexy… he’s perfect.

There was a transition moving in together, but nothing like I had expected. It’s gone incredibly smooth. The kids love the house because we have SO much more space. It’s nice a much nicer neighborhood, and I live with the man of my dreams. Life really could not get much better right now.

I’m still working at Chrysler, I’ve been there 8 months now. It’s a good thing that the pay and benefits are as good as they are. That’s all I’m going to say…

I need to attempt to see if my children are killing eachother upstairs or not, and maybe make myself look presentable – since I haven’t done so in nearly a week. However, I’m going to leave you with a few photos…

I just had emergency surgery as well to remove my appendix – also a very strange case where I wasn’t presenting the typical symptoms. Weird hey!? …children who were undergoing appendectomy’s…not full grown adults!

We want to hear more about Henry!!! And see pics of your new house! I am SO happy for you 🙂 Although, I feel so badly that you had to have such a major surgery. That stinks. I’m hoping your colon issue is a result of the infection/appendix problem. Poor you. (hugs)
