So, we did a thing….in the plague times, we decided the kids needed a friend to love. OD fam, meet Esme. She’s named after a character from one of my favorite short stories by my favorite author J. D. Salinger. Esme is a wise little girl who helps the main character in the story by sensing his loneliness and visiting with him at a cafe. Her character becomes even more important later in the story when she sends a letter to the main character, a WW2 soldier suffering extreme shell shock. Her act of compassion helps leads to his healing.
Last night, the little wooflet slept on my chest…..I didn’t have a single night terror.
My friend adopted Esme’s sister and, as you can see, they are very bonded. We plan to let them have play dates.
