Check your privacy settings (if you’re a Lifetime member)

Just a short entry today – this is not a privacy or security problem, it’s just a matter of being more private than you may want to be 🙂

When we first brought the diaries of Lifetime members into the new system months ago, we made all of the diaries Private in order to protect all the user’s privacy. The intent was that as members re-joined the site, the privacy setting would automatically be changed back to what it was on the old site (Public, Members Only, Friends Only, Private).

This worked fine for other members, but for Lifetime members the privacy was not changed automatically (for some of the returning Lifetime members).

So – if you are a Lifetime member, there is a chance that your diary is still set to Private, and you don’t realize it.

To check your settings, go to Profile on the main menu, and then click Settings in the menu on that page, and then click on Diary. On that screen, there is a selection for Diary Privacy – you can pick the privacy level you want, and then be sure to click Save at the bottom of the screen.

If you’re not a Lifetime member, no need to check – your settings were created automatically.
