Faint Sparkle of Memory

 You were my Daisy
Though I am not great
Not half what he is
Or ever has been
Your self serving has ended
I will not be had
Not be played
You’re not easy to forget
Or leave behind
This menagerie of intricately lain lies
Fragile, and I’d love nothing more
Than to see it all in a million tiny pieces
But I cannot have that past back
Or the one that I thought was
Was only real for as long as I refused to see it wasn’t
That green light has faded
Your count of enchanted objects
Has diminished by one
