Pepsi and Lays

Well, here I am. Behind a desk. It feels… strange. A far cry from where I usually am. The good news, I suppose, is that the medication seems to be doing its job, keeping the swelling at bay. And they’ve even assigned me a PA for the next four weeks. I have a sneaking suspicion that my less-than-stellar performance lately, coupled with maybe a glimpse of me limping on the CCTV when I thought no one was looking, finally convinced them I wasn’t exaggerating about this injury. Funny how you sometimes need visual proof for people to believe you.

My appetite still hasn’t really returned since the last time I wrote. I think it’s less about the actual pain now and more about this intense focus I have on getting better. It’s like all my energy is channeled into healing. But I do need to be smarter about this. I keep having to remind myself that fueling my body properly is just as crucial for regaining my strength. I won’t magically become strong again on fresh air alone.

Water and green tea are my constants. They feel clean and like they’re actually doing something good for me. I do have to admit, the occasional Pepsi Zero Sugar still calls to me, especially when I give in to a bag of Lays for a quick (and probably not ideal) lunch. But I know I can’t make that a habit. I’ve got to stay disciplined, keep healthy, and stay on top of my game in this limited capacity until I can finally get back to being my best. It feels like a long road sometimes, but I’ll get there. I have to.

Good luck in your recovery. And yes, staying clean and being disciplined are only your buddies

Pepsi and lays sound good.  Its good to hear they got you a PA. Hopefully you can stay off that toe as much as possible.
