Dear Diary
FACEBOOK POST
I’ve learned a lot these past few days – an important one is how fragile humans are.
We have evolved into being able to love with our whole bodies – and the love we give and receive can literally affect our wellbeing.
While we give our heart credit for the ability to love, it’s our brain. It produces dopamine, oxytocin, and vasopressin. These can be triggered by various factors – attraction, intimacy, and bonding, activate the brain’s reward system and creating feelings of pleasure and attachment.
Thus creating the “falling in love” feeling.
But did you also know you can literally die of “brokenhearted syndrome”.
So when I say we’re fragile; we are. Be kind. Be considerate. Be gracious. Show appreciation. Show gratitude. Accept criticism. Be vulnerable. Show, give, and receive love.

My uncle died from broken heart syndrome shortly after his wife died. It was so sad.
@snarkle I like to think I’m overreacting and just emotional…..but I do know and believe its a real thing. Which is fascinating since our heart doesn’t control our emotions – our minds do.
@unfilteredhousewife Broken heart syndrome is very real. The person essentially gives up on living. They CAN recover but often they succumb. My uncle had been diagnosed with heart failure 10 yrs prior. He played 9 holes of golf every week. He was doing fine. When my aunt died, he could not stop crying. He was dead within a year. His heart was broken and he could not go on. He had told me as much.
