Florida Trip Summary

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Florida. Lots of sunshine, beach time and relaxing in the yard under the umbrella reading. Diane wanted to hit all the thrift shops and flea markets so we did all of that. We even hit a few garage sales but didn’t see anything. Diane brought an extra suitcase and filled it up. She had a great time.

It felt like summer. High temps were 78 to 84 every day and only a sprinkle one afternoon.  I really enjoyed eating outside at the restaurants – sometimes overlooking the ocean and other times just breathing in the warm air. The palm trees were everywhere (it’s not called Palm Coast for nothing).  I really liked the atmosphere of Flagler Beach (next town south). We walked around browsing the shops, hitting the farmers market and watching the people.

We spent a day with my mom who was staying in New Smyrna Beach, about an hour south. She rents a condo with a group of women she knows. They have a pool which we enjoyed. Diane brought her new bathing suit with matching water shoes and cover up. It’s the nicest one she has ever owned and she had fun showing it off but didn’t go in the water – too cold for her at 80 degrees 😎

We also met up with my distant cousin, Judi. We joined her at the home of a friend for dinner and then met her again the next day to see her beachfront property in Ormond Beach. She lives 4 hours south in Pompano Beach but plans to build and settle there sometime in the future.

We will go again next year, for sure. I think we’ll go the first of February and try some place on the gulf coast.

Namaste

Sounds like a good place to go during the winter.
