Ode to the Dark

Chase the light twixt crooked armed trees
Low does the sun hide tucked unto skeins of the sea
Oh how the dark whispers, groans and claws
Reconciling nightmare; trespassing unto the mind

Maiming the conciseness entreat
Ripping, gnashing sane retreat
A thousand eyes and none
A thousand maws but one

Serenity doth die a lusty dream
Fabricated and faded; cold as icy wind
High does the moon cast its shadow, stark
Paying ode to the dark…
