Married to the love of my life for 38 years. Love my 3 great adult kids, my 2 wonderful sons-in-law, and our now 4! lively grandchildren. Not currently employed. Not exactly looking either, as Covid had me cautious and family responsibilities have needed my attention lately. Another attention grabber is that we are finally building our dream home/vacation property/retirement home. I will never build another house from scratch again! Last worked at a perfect part-time job for me - editor and writer for a construction industry blog. Very happy to see this re-boot of Open Diary, where I made such fun online friends many years ago. Hubby and I now in the phase where we help our aging parents through their next transitions. Circle of life, it appears. We still are lucky enough to be able to just escape from time to time!

Hubby has correctly noticed the funk I am in.  I finally explained it tonight that I just want my House (dream house in the Texas hill country for retirement and vacations before that - super delayed due to all of the reasons) to be done, and I want my Son (intelligent, talented, qualified, milit...

We attended the military ceremony at the DFW National Cemetery as the final goodbye for my father-in-law yesterday. I got online last night just to spill some of my thoughts, but that first line made me unsure which image I will put up in a bit.  Because he was so much more than just his…

  • The Very Wonderful Hurricane of my Eldest Daughter just swept over my house!
    February 14, 2022
Even as I want to type, I say to myself "deep breaths, deep breaths." My daughter announced that she wanted to bring her family (my 3 grandkids included) to visit this past weekend as they had a school break.  Unexpected, as we usually visit her at her place.  While saying that she is definitely ...

Yes, stop reading now if you don't want to hear how happy my life is.  I don't blame you.  I wouldn't want to hear this cheerful news either. I just enjoyed the BEST holiday season EVER! It was a pretty normal holiday, but it was contrasted by the year before, when in 2020 I was…
