1725 I love the Dry Lady

Saucy Scale: 8

TBU called on his way home last night.  As always, he asked if there was anything he could stop & pick up on his way home.  Why, yes!  I promptly directed him to my favorite pickle: The Vlasic Kosher Dill.  Oh heck, as long as you’re stopping by the pickle aisle, you might as well grab a jar of gherkins, too.  YUM!

I’m sitting in the kitchen right now.  Enjoying a lovely moment with Mattson – until he decided he was bored and took off for the playroom.  I want to remember this forever, it was just so cute.  We have a Svan highchair.  Actually, thanks to the kindness of an OD friend who was decluttering her home of baby equipment, we now have 2 Svan highchairs!  One is set up as a highchair for Mattson and the other is set up as a "toddler seat" for Gus.

Mattson has recently discovered that he can (just barely) climb up onto Gusser’s chair.  He can get himself up & sits on the footrest.  This morning he’s wearing some really cute jammies – the full body kind. but w/o the footies.  He pulled himself up onto Gusser’s footrest and his just sucking his thumb, swinging those cute little barefeet, humming a song, happy as can be.

What a good morning.

I’m waiting for our cleaning lady to arrive so that I can bundle up the boys and head out for the day.  I don’t like to hang around too long when she’s here.  The boys like to get into her cleaning supplies and he makes me all kinds of nervous.

UGH…last week she accidently broke something.  A little statue.  Just a little trinket, but this one happens to have emotional significance to me.  I bought it when my mommy was sick this last time.  It reminded me of Gus.

Mine was a little boy flying a balloon with the word "HOPE" in it.  Gusser was in a total balloon phase at the time and I had so much hope that my mommy would be fixed…

UGH…tears.  Of course.

Well, the Dry Lady (that’s Gusser speak for the cleaning lady) accidently knocked it off the mantle last week.  The body is intact, but both little hands broke off.  Dry Lady was really upset & showed me right away. She was really worried about it.  I kept a brave face & I told her it was "ok".  Bless her non-English speaking, illegal, Ukranian heart.

Last night I put the pieces into a ziploc baggie & tucked it into my underwear drawer for safe keeping.  I can probably glue it back together, but my heart is a little bit wounded about it.

The boys were supposed to have Park Day today with our church friends.  I have not made up my mind about whether we should attend or not.  I can keep Boogery Mattson in the stroller, so that’s not a problem.  I gotta think that when Gus gets to running around the park that his nose might create a bit of a scene.  I won’t be able to chase him around with a Kleenex, either.  We’ll see.

If I don’t take them to Park Day, I don’t really know what I’ll do to entertain them.  I don’t really feel like farting around at the mall today.  It’s too hot not to be indoors.  Botheration.

Since today is Dry Lady Day, it is a dinner out night.  As a rule, we do not sully the freshly scrubbed kitchen the same day that Dry Lady makes it all clean.  There will be plenty of time & opportunity to defile the kitchen tomorrow.

I suppose I have some time to kill, I could take Mattson’s DISGUSTING Svan out onto the front porch and give it a good scrubbing.  There is so much yogurt, cottage cheese, & bananas caked in the crevices!

my how things have changed. i believe i had about 2-3 high chairs to choose from when my girls were little. the picture of your high chair scares me – really.

I love that highchair.

I have never even heard of Svan, but I’m a happy camper with Christina’s Fisher Price one so I guess it doesn’t matter.

I’m sorry about the statue–I have the same one. But I am glad the cleaning lady told you she broke it. We also have the one of the daddy holding the baby in his lap. While doing some of my own cleaning, I found that daddy statue broken in half. And whoever broke it (my cleaning lady?) had carefully placed it so that it didn’t look broken until someone picked it up and half of it remained on the table. Ugh!!!

I felt so sad reading about the little balloon boy… I hope you do fix it. Hope is not lost- (no pun intended). Hugs and love

My “dry lady” quit two months ago. Boo! I hate trying to find someone new, but I HAVE TO!!! I just can’t keep up with it all on my own.

RYN: LOL! Sorry! I put a warning now. heheheheheheee… I have 2 more but they are even wilder. I tried REALLY hard to get something decent but those lights. WOW! I hope you can fix the little balloon guy. At least she told you which we can’t say for many.
