1738 Snap out of it!
Saucy Scale: 8
Ok, even I’m sick of all my moaning and belly-aching. I will now attempt to resurrect the old cute perky, dare I say, saucy "That Girl" for a few minutes.
Wish me luck.
I had a few good days to start the week. My headache vanished for a few days. While not completely barf-free, I did have at least one barfless day (celebrate the tiny victories!).
So the barometer must be toying with me, ’cause my headache is back tonight. I’ve taken my Tylenol/Sudafed cocktail and hoping it kicks in soon. Glory glory Hallelujah! Mama hasn’t needed the favored green sandbucket today either! (I won’t get cocky about it…or I’ll pay for it all day tomorrow!)
I found a local Mothers of Multiples (MOMs) group. Lo and behold…the first meeting of the MOMs year is next week! I’m really excited about hooking up with some other MOMs and getting my assigned mentor!
Uncle Boogie kindly volunteered to help us out with a last minute babysiting need last night. Bless his heart! He and the boys watched the movie Cars (Gusser’s favorite movie…EVER!) and ate a fingerfood picnic in front of the tv. TBU and I had to go back for a meeting with the homebuilder. This time to sign the purchase agreement & give them a new check for an extreme amount of cash.
I look at my calendar and see so many times that I’m going to need DAYTIME childcare (either for OB appointments or 2 more homebuilder appointments). All my sitters are high school kids and so I’m pretty much SOL for sitters for some daytime babysitters. This stresses me out. I sent out an email to my local cadre of mom friends looking for their recommendations. Maybe one of them will even step up and volunteer themselves. My first need is next week Wednesday. I’d like to get this resolved asap.
Remember how I’m the idiot co-chair of the nursery school fundraiser? I am seriously trying to get my @ss out of this commitment. My heart just isn’t in the job right now. I’m a little stressed. I need to encourage someone from the committee to step up and prepare to take over. SOON.
Between the news of the twins & moving our family timeframe forward with this new house business, I feel like my life is a huge boulder rolling down a big hill. I just feel like so many areas of our life are out of our control. I’m a scheduler. I like structure. I would like life to slow down so that I can savor these things for a moment. Nothing new, please. Give me a moment to catch-up.
OK, anyone else in love with V8 Fusion fruit/veggie juice? I’ve been avoiding drinking straight fruit juice b/c I’m wary of the sugar content (and my desire to avoid a new case of gestational diabetes). These suckers are pretty tasty.
TBU and I have a sordid and shameful secret to tell. We DVR every episode of America’s Got Talent. Some of these acts are ridiculously out of their element (and need to go home), but we’ve got some acts that we adore.
Tomorrow morning is the first morning of my almost child-free status. Both boys will be at "school" either nursery school (Gus) or Parents Day Out (Mattson). I don’t know how I will occupy my free-time, but I’m sure I can come up with something.
Ok, I think that’s about all I’ve got to say for now.
5 Things That Make Me Happy:
- The ladies from our church are already asking "how can I help?" (Although none of their schedules seem to jive with my immdiate babysitting need)
- My husband is a dear sweet man who has been so supportive & understanding of my current limitations.
- Nuttin’ But Strings
- oh! feel that? Apparently the twins like V8 Fusion as much as I do…there’s a bit of squirming in there!
- bedtime…I’m ready for some sleepy-sleep
okay- how far exactly are you? And OMFG I still cant believe it!!! Have you thought about names or anything? Will the twins share a room in the new house? I hope you can schedule soon- I love lists- they are myfavorite thing ever. Right now fruit juice makes me gag-but cereal is my friend.

So lately I’ve been amazed at how many people I hear are having multiple births (friend having twins, people on OD, my boss’ wife is having twins)… then yesterday I found out that a guy that recently joined my project team has 6 month old QUADRUPLETS! Crazy!! I think I’ll stay away from the water they’re drinking 😉

Do you have a college nearby? They often make up lists of students that are interested in babysitting around their class schedule. My fave drink these days is V8 Fusion diluted with seltzer. I get some nice flavor and not many calories. I think it is perfectly understandable why you want to get out of the fundraiser. I pray someone will step up. With what is on your plate, doing thattoo is a bit much. I want you to be able to relish your time with your two (three?) boys before those twins come and are necessarily your focus for a while.

Bless your mommy’s heart. I can’t imagine riding it out alone. Especially in NO!!!!! I can say this is the firs time since living here (29 years) that I’m a little bit scared.

Maybe you’re not as blunt as I am (OK, you’re most likely not), but I would just tell the committee that in light of your recent news, you will not be able to put sufficient energy and focus into the fundraiser, and therefore cannot co-chair. Let them know you’d be glad to help as much as you are able to, but you’re likely going to be giving birth right around the time of the event. I believe you said you’d be doing the fundraiser 8 months pregnant? Well, most twins I know were delivered around 37 weeks. Be prepared for some Valentine’s babies (but I hope they stick around in there for St Patty’s Day). Just sayin’.

ryn: CONGRATULATIONS! I’m glad you stopped by. I am just so thrilled for TBU and you. If you need ANYTHING, please just let me know. I would even babysit for you if I lived close enough. But seriously – any questions or need-to-vent or whatever, I am here.

How far along are you again?

Yay babies! I just visited two friends with little ones and I can’t imagine handling one, let alone two! I don’t have experience though, and you certainly don’t lack anything there! I’ve heard that the multiples groups have great consignment sales for strollers, etc, that are specifically for multiples.

If you have a costco there- you can buy 12 or 14 of them per case.. I forget) for 11.49 cents- otherwise at Starbucks or grocery stores they are 1.99 per bottle. I really really like them. They taste like juice- but are carbonated like soda, and they dont have any caffeine, but they do have a decent amount of sugar- so you have to be careful. The other thing I’m living on is gingerale haha
