1798 My own precious moments
…and no, I don’t mean those crazy wide-eyed statues.
Saucy Scale: 7
I’ve got a messed up tummy right now. I’m not sure what caused it, but I hope the immodium kicks in quickly this morning.
The Big Boys were rather rambunctious this morning. They were being corrected for naughty behavior before they even had even changed out of jammies into their clothes. That drives me nuts…the screeching, yelling, & running around like banshees. Not to mention the complete inability to keep their hands off The Minis. It just grates on my nerves. I know that "boys will be boys," but it just never seems to stop some days.
So fast forwarding through our collective morning…
I’ve asked the boys to play in the playroom while I get breakfast together for them. Otherwise they are in The Minis faces too much. They are having a hard time obeying me. I grab my laptop (to check my email etc.) and sit on the couch…which cues the boys that they might get the t.v. on if they start in on me. No dice. I’m not ready to turn my kids into t.v. zombies quite yet…there will be planty of time for that later on today.
I grab the brand-new issue of Wild Animal Baby magazine (from National Wildlife Federation) which just happens to feature Hippos this month. (Hippos are Mattson’s very favoritest animals in the whole world.) The Big Boys sat next to eachother on the couch and "read" the magazine to eachother. It was only about 5 minutes of quiet from them, but it was the sweetest 5 minutes I’d enjoyed in awhile…no "roaring", no screaming, no picking at eachother for a response, no stealing toys from eachother, no yelling "MINE!", and no tantrums or tears.
Just two precious boys "reading" about hippos.
i love them. Sam ‘read to Marilyn last night… so sweet

Gotta record those kinds of memories! Ryan is always right in Karsen’s face, too. It drives me nuts! I had a dream the other night that B got a job in Your Town & we moved there & bought your house & you got to move into the other one. How weird is that? I must have had you guys on my mind when I went to sleep!

That’s a great moment and yes it is much better than the wide-eyed statues, which look kind of creepy if you ask me.

Ahh…yes. The constant roaring, screaming, PICKING, stealing, yelling, tantrums. UGH!!! I suppose that is just how boys are, but it makes me NUTS. NUTS, I tell you.
