Resume dropping

Well after I found out I wasn’t getting the cooshy government job I wanted I started dropping my resume into jobs that I wanted. I managed to get two interviews, the first one was so horrible mostly because I am out of practice with interviewing, I blew it. But the second one (same day and after thinking, Ohh I probably shouldn’t have said that, or said it that way etc…) I managed to get the job. Its a customer service job that will not require me to sell a damn thing. Finally, OHhh and even better news its not likely to go to India or anywhere as outsourcing… that’s the best part.

I started today (Monday, Nov 22) my five weeks of training, and as long as I can pass the tests during training with an 85% average between the three I’ll take I’ll go to the floor. Its temp to perm right now, but usually if you pass the training and are making standards on the floor you’ll get hired with in 60 – 90 days. Fabulous.

WhenI go perm I’ll be working with a prescription suppliment company called Caremark. If you want to find out about them visit their site at caremark.com. Currently I understand what the company is, but not well enough to be able to explain it myself, or I’d do so.

I dropped about 20 resume’s in a week so once I got into looking hard, and not just waiting for the IRS job, I was able to find a job easily. I must just have started looking at the right time, because in Missouri I’ve never had such luck in getting a job before.

Mostly Im just going to hang in there until I go permanent.

Other neat or interesting news, at least to me it is, is that my LARP group is starting our new game in January, and one of the Regional events the South Central Regional Event (SCARE) is happening in New Orleans…. how awesome is that…. to me its pretty awesome, one city I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting. I might go down a day or two early so I can explore the city before spending the long weekend in the Con. Im making reservations tomorrow, probably should ask justin if he wants to go down Tuesday… Ohh Im uber exciting about seeing New Orleans. For as much traveling I’ve done this is one city I’ve not yet seen, and I’ve always wanted too.
