A new friend

One door closes another opens they always say!

So while I had some pissy moods for a few days over the whole issue with my friend in the last entry I have basically come away with it no worse for the wear and pretty not upset about it. Still don’t quite get the fact that he has the audacity to think I wanted him.. A few friends I shared the email with every singe one of their reactions was, “Aren’t you married?” So obviously it is only his friend or who ever who believes I was crushing on him.

So I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this here in awhile or at all, but my favorite authored died almost three years ago, and the fan site I had belonged to for awhile but hadn’t visited shut down, I don’t know when but when I found out RJ had died that was the first place I went.. it was gone, so I went to dragonmount, another big site for his fans, it had been so over loaded that it simply put up a page that said our servers are bogged we too are grieving (or some similar type message) and refered users to a few other sites.

Well one of the sites I had recognized the name of as a site I had visited before but never joined, because they are not a role playing site but just a fan site and at the time I was looking for RP. Well since I wasn’t when RJ passed on I decided to go to that site and join the community of fellows mourning the loss of RJ.

I’ve been a member of the site for several years and they do have real life events. Two offical events in the US that are just for the site, and several others across Europe and the Australia region of the world, then they also as a group are represented at events like DragonCon and JordanCon.

Well That is how I know the friend from the previous entry.

They have a chat room and forums and plenty of ways for members to be involved in on online community that is also about making the community a real life one as well.

So it seems yesterday I made a good friend of one of my fellow members. He’s someone who has been a member for ages but hasn’t been around a lot until recently.. he has a pattern for that, but eh, even I do the occassional leave of absence.

So out with the old and in with the new…

Strange how things always seem to be kept well balanced.
