OPM 18 – I think…

I’ve been a horrible updater and reader lately.  School has just taken over and I don’t like that.  In an effort to not go up every weekend I am staying later.  I sort of lost my early morning time because my friend’s daughter is getting a divorce (again) and her twin daughters go to my school.  (They came in K, she pulled them to home school 2 years ago, and they are now back in 1st and weak in reading.  Home schooling works when you are the right person.  To her it was a reason to stay home.)  Anyway, when she mentioned to the girls that they would need to change schools they burst into tears, so I volunteered to go over and pick them up each morning.  I don’t get there nearly as early and now have two 7 year olds to entertain.  So, I really don’t get a lot done at all. lol Anyway, with staying late, I’m exhausted when I get home and just never seem to get the time to come in here.  So many of my friends have jumped ship.  I just can’t do it.  I’ve been here well over 10 years so, until they turn the lights out, I’m here.  I may be the last one, but I’m staying.

Some pictures to share.

Tomorrow is Science Saturday.  I had 24 sign up and I think most, if not all plan on being there.  That’s a larger group than I like to have, but I’ll make it work.  We’re working on engineering this time.  (Which means my buggy had things like 6 bottles of dish soap, rubber bands, balloons, marshmallows (big and little), craft sticks, and 3 boxes of spaghetti. The poor girl just sat there and looked at me like I was crazy.)  I used the lids of the soap to hot glue to the cds (oh yea bought them, aren’t they cool looking?  They look like 45 records.)  We’re building hover crafts.  Also on taps are spaghetti towers, aluminum foil boats, marble roller coasters, and a couple of other fun engineering projects that I can’t remember.  I’m sure I planned too much and we’ll do more later in the year.  We were going to do rockets, but it’s supposed to still be raining, I also planned confetti launchers, but tomorrow is an election day and our school is a polling place.  I thought things blowing up might cause concern. πŸ˜€  Anyway, here’s a picture of the hover crafts.  I’ll try and get some tomorrow of them in action:

For the past 3 days I’ve had a bee hanging beside my door.  He moves, slightly, so I know he’s alive.  I’m not sure what his story is:

And, when I finally left school around 5:30 this evening, I saw this on my drive in to the store. I pulled over for the picture.  (The car behind me did, too.  I guess we all needed a little rainbow action. πŸ™‚  )  There was a slight 2nd one to the right of it, but I couldn’t catch it with my phone.  It was a hell of a bad day with students today (and co-worker), so it was a beautiful sight.  The colors were so vivid.  I wish the camera had caught them the same way.

Now the $10,000,000 question.  Will this upload and will it show to y’all?  I miss the magic of this place. πŸ™
