Phase Four Incomplete.

Much to my surprise this morning, Windows ran the scandisk on Cargo Bay Two without requesting to restart. Unfortunately when I came home, it was frozen right in the middle of Phase Four. I’ll have to trick Roxanne into wanting EXCLUSIVE ACCESS AND STUFF so she’ll request a reboot. *pets Roxanne* I fear her red lights have been on too long. Har har.

Ran into Cliff again in the café. Discussed how if I lie about having a band, I’d create a song called “Eat Your Mother”. Naturally, I’d also name the band “Eat Your Mother”. Ha ha. If I’m feeling perky, I’ll write the hit single later today. : D

I’m hungry, so I ate a banana. Mom claims Dad wants to go out to eat. She said he’d be back soon. Hence my Bush Doctrine eating, as I know all too well what “soon” means in this family. “Soon” means “lying out of my ass, as he’ll be back in a long time”. Always, without fail. Yes.

Well, at least WinAmp still works. No matter what happens, WinAmp v2.81 will always work. Same WinAmp I’ve been using since before even Lisa Electron. Well, okay, I used 2.78 on Lisa, but nevermind that.

Addendum: Dad lied. He wanted to GOTO this sandwich shop on the corner. Which is not “going out to eat” in my world. That’s the same as fast food, to me. Going out to eat means sitting down and being served in some fashion.

Mom suggested IHOP. I’ll be on my way now.

Addendum 2: Or, “Why I Hate IHOP.”

See, it’s not really my preference to go there. It’s simply the most common denominator. Ask my dad to pick where to go, and he’ll pick one of the two places I absolutely hate going. TGIF’s. Oh god. Why the fuck does he like that piece of shit theme restaurant? I tolerate it once in a blue moon to keep him happy. Then there’s that sandwich shop. ..That is not going out to eat, in my book. It doesn’t feel right. Or he’ll suggest Taco Bell.

I eat Taco Bell with my friends because we’re poor, not with you, jerkoff.

For the longest time, I refused IHOP. Not really because I didn’t like the food. I’d been there before with my own friends when they had unlimited pancakes that one time. Cliff was on his fourth or fifth plate, and they took it away before he could finish. That was during the Melody era. Yes, Melody. “You were the best, yet sadly, you weren’t very good.” Or so the inside jokes go now.

Cliff said to Liz today, “You’re so cute when you’re psychotic.” To which Liz retorted, “Right, like all your other ex-girlfriends.” She cops shit like that a lot, in part because Cliff can’t help but notice how all girls seem to be the same. At least to him. At which point I pondered and said, “No, no, they weren’t.” I obviously wouldn’t see the cutely psychotic side of Liz as much as Cliff would, but I’ll give her credit there. Cliff agreed with me, and conversation continued.

Anyway, IHOP. I made the mistake of getting eggs. See, if you read, you’ll remember I had pancakes and eggs at the diner yesterday. Did i mention that? Oh well, I wrote it now. Big honkin` pancakes with frayed edges. I like it like that. Too circular of pancakes bothers me. The eggs were fantastic, I saved a bite for the end to wash down the fluffy pancake flavor.

IHOP? Oh god, eggs = plastic. Why oh why did I do that to myself?

My dad pulls this, “Well, where do YOU want to go?” It’s almost like a dare to me. Maybe I should should be like, “Well, we’ll go exactly where you hate going because that’s where I like going.” He doesn’t like mexican food, period. But, mom and I do. I’d suggest Chevy’s more, but it’s a drive down Route Ten. It’s the next best thing to Chi-Chi’s.

Could have made a separate entry out of said angst, but whatever, nobody cares.

My parents are the Dining Dead. *nods* They don’t communicate, they have a series of misunderstandings. It’s like all their conversation is a struggle to understand what the other is saying, except they don’t even realize that they’re misunderstanding each other. It works only in the way that they’re married? *blinks* This is the reason I’m so shocked when I meet people who I don’t have to do this little dance with.

Far more people can communicate effectively with me than I give credit to.

I hate when soon means “never” haha

I enjoy IHOP. I also enjoy a wide variety of flavored syrups on the table that I will never use. I just appreciate that they’re there.

I HATE IHOP, too.

P.S. I rarely eat eggs. It’s usually a big mistake.

Dammit, Timmy, I care. God, I used to hate going out to eat with my parents. Your parents seem…stymied. I honestly don’t know how they are married.
