Stimulating the Economy.

We went shopping for beach supplies and an SD card for her Wii.

I ended up buying three more expansions for Sims (Pets, Seasons, Freetime), another Wii game (Samurai Warriors something), a new blender, and an 8 gig SD card. Oh, and no beach supplies. Another time. Racked up over a hundred dollars.

I must say, it’s great not being in debt. I check my funds online on a regular basis, and pay off my credit card weekly. I might as well just cancel statements, but I feel safe getting them and seeing “Amount due: $0”.

It’s just not like me to spend money! I’m normally a complete frugal tight-ass! But it’s great being able to buy things I know I’ll enjoy and still see an increase in my funds on a regular basis.

As I have the freaking last expansion pack (Apartment Life), there’s holes for where other expansion packs would be. Most of it is FreeTime, strangely. I really wasn’t sure what the hell FreeTime added, but I’m tired of having marked out buttons! So to speak. Seasons seems self-explanatory. I don’t need another secondary lot to visit (like University). And Pets, well. Twenty bucks so I can have the Diddley family hound? Sure, why not. I just hope there aren’t stray pets rampant like there were in Sims1. I remember having to moveObjects on to delete those fuckers. I would have gotten NightLife, but I can’t seem to find it by itself. No big deal, really. I think it added cars? Oh well. I would have gotten Open for Business, but I hear it’s rather time-consuming. I figure if I ever want it, I can get it later. Bon Voyage looks like a newer version of Vacation. Which. I seriously did not see the point of. Maybe another time.

As for the Wii game, Samurai Warriors games tend to be rather hack`n`slash, so I’m interested to see what they did with the WiiMote. It was only 20 bucks, so I figured if it’s even nominally okay, it’ll be worth it. I told Candi I’m so lucky I get to use her shtuff.

Looking at a new blender is so fascinating. Nothing wrong with my old blender’s motor. It’s actually the piece in the middle that rotates, it’s gotten pretty eroded. The new one is all SQUARE. Dude! Square? My old blender’s nub looks like it’s almost smooth. Not to mention rusted.

Weee. I’m excited. The SD card added a ridiculous amount of memory to the Wii. I’ll probably blow some more money on Rock Band songs. You should hear her sing “Don’t Stop Believin`.” She’s got a voice, I tell you. Kind of glad I’m working the next couple of days. All this gives me something to look forward to!

Pets doesn’t add a lot of strays. The wolf with the glowing eyes likes to come around every night and bark at the door, which is annoying, but your sims probably won’t pay any attention to it if they are inside. Seasons doesn’t add a whole lot, some new actions and playing in the snow is fun. Open for Business is kind of time consuming. And I suck at running a sim business. I just don’t have the patience for it. And it gives more stores to go to, no biggie. You are not missing much! And Bon Voyage is fun, I find it amusing to have the sims go on a honeymoon, after the wedding a limo will come and pick them up and wisk them off to whatever destination you choose (of the three options). And there are accomplishments to get while on vacation at each location, so it kind of gives you a goal. And each vacation spot has a “secret” lot to get to. So it kind of gives you goals, if you like that kind of thing. And of course there are new intereactions. And if you have nighlife you get cars and more lots to go to, and you get your sim friends randomly calling you to go out. I find that annoying. And there is the dating aspect too on there. But its insanely easy to have a “dream d

Square is the new style for kitchen appliances.. that way they can be all pushed together and take up less space on the counter.

I LOVE SEASONS! it’s my favorite expansion to date. though one of my sims just suffered heat stroke! that never happened before. i think she was fishing in the sun for too long. hobbies is nifty, but doesn’t add much to the game. i like the ceramics and enhanced novel writing. apartment life is on its way… i’m excited!

RYN: Ive watched the trailers and things for Sims 3 I believe its going to be SO much better than Sims2 lol

I don’t think that Sims 3 will live up to it’s hype. Sims 2 will be the pinnacle of the franchise.
