weekend at my parents’
Spent the weekend at my parents’. My mother just returned visiting her husband in Egypt, and my father just returned from holiday in Berlin. This meant we had a lot of catching up to do. Naturally we also played mahjong and played Klaberjass. Of the 8 games of mahjong only 4 gave a result, in the others no one could make a winning combination. Overall, my mother won. Mainly because in one game she ended with only dragons and winds. I had mahjong, but she got many more points. I won both games of Klaberjass.
The second day was much quieter. I read a couple of chapters of Jane Austen’s Emma. I had hoped that we would play some more games, but alas! The men’s final at Wimbledon prevented that. My parents wanted to watch, which they did. I just kept reading. Watching television when someone is visiting you is not something that I would have done.
This morning I had an assessment over the telephone, regarding my (possible) new job at ING. I had to pretend to be someone from a travel agency, and sell a package holiday. I think it went fine. At least good enough to get offered this job. It is, however, still a question whether I will take it.
I am leaning towards a yes.
