Aalsmeer
I went to Aalsmeer to discuss a job at Joop van den Ende’s ticket line, i.e. selling tickets for musicals. It looks like a fun job, but the drawback is that it only pays €8.03. Also, it could have been located a bit closer (but 45 minutes is still just ok). The flexibility is a major advantage. I can even work on Sunday evenings! So, I’ll take it. But I will, in the mean time, continue looking, as will the temp agencies.
After this I left my phone on silent and I didn’t check any emails. Just to calm down, to not deal with anything stressful for just a little while.
At 1 I had a date with Fransy. She had to return my library book, and we took this as an opportunity to say goodbye for the summer. She was a bit late, but that was no problem, she texted me to let me know. I was happy reading anyway (Bridget Jones’s diary). From 2 till 4 we happily discussed work/study/holiday and so forth.
Completely unrelated, but I do want to tell you about last Tuesday’s game against Paul. In a winning position I mad a terrible mistake, and lost. The 3 against 3 combination to King was not easy to miss, but that is exactly what I did. It turns out that if I had taken the first piece in a different way I could have entered an endgame in which I still would have some chances to draw. But I even missed that. I had only 2 minutes left on the clock, so that is probably the reason, but still. This should never happen. Next time I should divide my time a little better.
