Kobe 3

These are pictures of a temple near my home, on the moutain behind Kobe:

*

These are shrines for "water babies", those who were miscarried or aborted…  We have two of them up there.  My Lucky cat, who died in Japan, is enshrined there too.

*

I’ve been using the OD tools to resize this series of pictures and it seems to distort them a bit….

*

This was either 1993 or 94….

I read about the Mizuko Kuyo ceremonies in one of my Anthropology classes, but had never seen any of the shrines. I was always curious what they looked like.Blessings and Love,

like those fancy red skirts. heehee. ryn: yes, i do think traumas change you, but also grow you. i find a great deal of comfort in looking back to see how far i have come. though it does make me shudder to look back and see that much pain.

RYN: That would be great! I’d love to know any kind of travel tips and info on Japan. Thank you very much. OD does have a tendency to warp the pictures when you resize them. I have to always resize mine before I even send them to Photobucket. Try changing the size before you post the pictures into Photobucket (or whatever place you use to store the pictures).
