Nine hours later and I can barely get aound in my studio apartment. There is no way I can work tonight – our runs during the week average two miles of walking and nearly 50 of driving. Maybe (sarcasm) maybe it would be better if it were my left foot- the one that doesn’t use the brake and accelerator. Ha.

I’ve been told in the past that there is no "Workmen’s comp" for independant (sub) contractors. I am up the creek without a paddle.

I had to get an advance this week to cover the registration and gas for my van. The Feds also chose this week to begin yanking 50 bucks out of my bank account to cover taxes for 04, and now my bank account is overdrawn – fees added too? You betcha. Bank’s gotta make their money. Since my Visa card is linked to the checking account, they hit that for the last 8 bucks in that account too…another service fee. Over the limit fees, etc.

What I mean to say is that the rest of this week’s check is pretty much gone.

It’s not my ankle – by comparision, that feels super. It is the bones on the top of my right foot that hurt, and I am afraid to peel off that sock – don’t wanna see.

Ice and elevation. (Even some frozen vegetables in a bag from the freezer you can drape over the foot) And Advil, or something anti-inflammatory.

I like the frozen vegetables idea. I had a package of frozen peas that got used when my older son had his wisdom teeth out. Who’d want to eat the things, anyway? Frozen peas make a much better cold pack than dinner. Sorry about your financial woes. I’ve had that bit with the overdrawn account and bouncing three checks at $27 a check.

There should be some degree of responsibility on your boss’ part for this… it was his choice to put you in the van with the CO being the way it is. You shouldn’t have to hurt physically and financially due to his neglect. Sorry you hurt your foot due to it. 🙁
