 Fifteen years ago today I was living in Kobe Japan.  At 5:46 am, a force 7 earthquake hit the Kansai area and caused widespread, unbelievable damage.  In memorium, I have posted my experiences at this time every year-

 

This year, it seems in poor taste, given how badly damaged Haiti is from the quake two days ago.  From what I learned in Kobe, the news you are seeing on your television is not even the smallest portion of the human suffering and structural damage.  Spare a thought or a prayer for those poor people please.
