Oh snap

Of course "snap" is a substitute for another word.

It’s happening, what I was afraid of:  The car has 30 miles of gas left in it and the insurance bill is due the 10, the day after tomorrow, and I don’t have enough money for either.  I was very afraid this would happen.  I have $5 in my Savings account and about $80 in checking and it is not enough.  The insurance is $130 and gas is over $3.88 a gallon.  I can put more gas in the car, yeah, but I can’t drive it after Saturday, with no insurance.

I can’t find the pay day calendar I was given a month and a half ago, so I’m not sure when the next day day is.  That check should be nice… but when I pay the bills due, it will be more or less gone.

Jesus christ, I have never been so poor before.  I have had less money, I think, at some time in the past – when I moved in here and was still unable to work because of the brain injury, but my expenses were much lower and it wasn’t such a big deal.  Now, I have a job, and I won’t be able to get to it.  I do have some bus tickets, so transpo is not impossible, but oh shit, this is a "cascading failure",  The insurance renews THIS month, and in that case, they won’t cut me any slack – this happened in February too, so I know. Then, at least, I knew that the next week would see a $79.00 Unemployment deposit in my account, but I don’t foresee anything going into the account for at least another week.  I just can’t drive without insurance: for one thing, I owe lots of money on the car, and for another, if anything happens (they call that an accident) I will be completely screwed.

I guess this is what "up the creek without a paddle" feels like.  Oh shit.

It’s too ironic:  I have a job but I can’t afford to get there. I can’t drive, I can’t go anywhere, and it’s just too damn bad.

Onwards stops here, dammit.

Could your job give you a pay advance just this once? Ask them.

Most insurance companies that I’ve dealt with wont cancel your policy if it not paid on the date that it’s due. Usually they carry you for a few weeks before cancelling it. Can’t hurt to call and ask for the exact cancelation date if you can’t pay by the due date.

What Pickled Duck Lips said. State Farm gave me about a month.
