26 hours without electricity
As usual, with all the winds yesterday, our power went out. And in our case, when we lose electricity we also lose our heat, water and phone. Of course I had lots planned to do yesterday.
There’s not a whole lot to do in this modern world when the electricity goes out but it does present an opportunity to indulge in a few things without guilt. For instance, you can sleep! That’s actually a good idea since the heat is out and the temp in the house is dipping to 60. Not bad, but certainly not cozy. So, sleep without guilt that things are being left undone! That’s a "Yay!"
Or you can read that book that’s been getting pushed aside for the laundry and dishes and housecleaning and the list goes on. Yes, find a bright window and luxuriate in being able to read without guilt. Or cross-stitch, knit, paint or whatever your hobby is. Get back to the basics and revel in it.
If you are not interested in reading, sleeping or knitting, you can just…forget it! LOL!
I would vote for two days per week without electricity. I enjoy, and I bet you would learn to cuddle in 60 degree house if it happened more often. hahaha have fun…dan

Al and I lost our electricity too, cuz of the wind. Only for 4 hours, though. I’m glad you got to do some fun stuff guilt-free. I read more of that Cleopatra book that you gave me. It’s taking me forever, lol.

I know my Honey would say there is at least one more thing you can do without electricity:)

It’s amazing how dependent we are on electricity. The biggest thing for me is the plumbing – no electricity means no working toilets. I can go without a shower for a while, but…

Kind of makes me wish the power would go out … for a little while

HaHaHa Thats a good reply. Must remember that one. Pity about the electricity. We get that here now and then. The thing I dont like about it is the food in the freezer defrosting as I sometimes cook two weeks food at a time and freeze it. Your husband looks really happy in that past entry photograph..good looking too!

Enjoy the break! (And eat the ice cream if it gets too mushy!)
