From 9 weeks to 9 days!

Nine days is really three weeks but I am at the point where I am counting actual days left before I get to leave that drudgery of a job behind forever! Yay!!

It has been a bit stressful even though I am so glad to be rid of the job. With hubby not being paid for the 2 months of summer, it was some small bit of security to have my miniscule paycheck coming in every week. But we need to cash in my retirement so we can have more than my checks to live on until we sell the place and I can’t cash it in unless I quit so…

Still, it has been a source of a constant low-grade stress level for me. That is until I sat down and figured out that it would take me until Thanksgiving to earn what I will be cashing out! So I am a bit relieved about that.

So in 3 weeks (or 9 days depending on how I look at it! lol) I will leave my job! Then we head to Louisiana for the 32 hour drive to pick up the boys for the summer. The kids’ bathroom that we are working on now will be all finished by then and with me home now, we will be able to keep working on the house and still have time to show the boys a great time this summer. Now we can hit the beach during the week when it’s not so crowded and do all the other small day trips we always wanted to but never found the time because we were limited to the weekends with my sleep and work schedule.

With any luck, the house will be ready to go on the market in mid July right after we bring the boys back. Everything is still up in the air and I will be glad when it’s finally all settled. We still haven’t heard from the school Dennis applied to but I hear that’s not unusual. It would be nice though to know for sure where he will be teaching next year. Of course it would be nice to know if the house will sell and for how much and where we will be living too, but hey! We can’t have everything now can we?

But right now, I am just in from work and I am off to watch Grey’s Anatomy to see if it’s worth my time next season. It used to be my favorite show because it was so interesting but now it’s turning into just another angst ridden soap opera. If I was interested in a soap opera, I would just start talking to the people at work! LOL!

All of this stress will be worth it in the end. A few bumps now for smooth ride later ; > ) here’s to nine days! (I agree about Grey’s Anantomy)

I’m jealous that you can quit work. That’s my biggest goal. I agree about Grey’s Anatomy. We used to really like it, but it HAS turned into a soap opera.

I started watching Grey’s Anatomy on Lifetime…it’s still in the first season, so let’s not spoil anything for me! 🙂
