All I could do was laugh…
Finally, after 4 years, we have water at the simple turn of a faucet. The convenience was awe inspiring and overwhelming. No more mapping out times to do the laundry, or the dishes, or to take a shower knowing once the water was on there was only 10 minutes of hot water whether it was being used or not. Water pressure was strong and luxurious, showers were long and enjoyable without having to run downstairs to turn the water on and off.
Of course the increased water pressure caused a few kinks that had to be worked out, like the toilets having to be adjusted so they wouldn’t overflow from the tank! It seems that the tanks would fill up so quickly that the ball and flap thingy didn’t have time to position themselves to stop the water! Grrrr. Well at least ceiling below was already cut out due to the damage 4 years ago when this problem started! (See? There’s always a silver lining…you just have to search for it! LOL!)
And after only 2 weeks of the water being fixed, our water bill was within $15 of what it should be! Even with my going crazy using it whenever I wanted to! I should have known that all this convenience of modern technology couldn’t last, after all, things just never run smoothly around here.
But I had been seduced by the ease of living and so when the washing machine decided to quit working, I was actually offended! lol. How rude of it to break like that! And it didn’t even have the decency to break to the point where it has to be replaced! Oh noooo. It still fills up and washes the clothes, it just doesn’t have a spin cycle anymore so the clothes are dripping wet at the end of the cycle. Thanks alot!
We cannot afford to go replacing the washer when they can be wrung out by hand and thrown into the dryer which still works…for the moment anyway! So there I am yesterday, wringing these damned clothes out by hand and instead of cussing out the world, all I could do was shake my head and laugh!
lol Simple pleasures of water flowing freely , CONGRATS.

Our clothes would have to just stay dirty! With the arthritis in my hands, that would be impossible for me to do. I’m glad you got the water problem fixed:)

Al and I might be getting a new washer and dryer when we move. You want ours? It’s from the 80’s, but so am I and I’m pretty cool. 😛

If it’s not one thing then….I love that you maintain your sense of humor when life throw’s you these things. I don’t care what they say about you, I like you anyway, LOL ; > )

Our spin cycle broke too a while ago! I believe it’s a simple fix…by how quickly the repairman left after only a few minutes in the laundry room?? Yep, we need our sense of humor after all this upheaval in our households! 🙂
