I know, there are many more worse things…

One part of today…

We were at Eliana’s dentist, and the one tooth that she injured 2 years ago is not looking good. The nerve is gone and it seems like there might be an infection between it and the adult tooth. They showed me the x-ray between last December and today, and I can totally see it. We go back in 6 weeks to see if the infection has grown. If it has then my baby will need to have the tooth out.

*cries*

I know I know, there are so many more worse things in the world. She already is in the 98% for height, everyone thinks she is a 1st or 2nd grader. Today at Barnes and Nobel she was paying for her book with a gift card and talking it up. The lady working here asked if she did the summer reading program. I said, well, she is only 4. You have to be in 1st grade for the program. The lady was a little taken back…

Anyway…

I have a fave here whose daughter got injured in the front top tooth right around the same time as Eliana, and her daughter had to have the tooth out. It’s super cute. I guess…well little kids can really get away with that look.

I wonder if she will take after my side for teeth though. Like my cousins didn’t start losing teeth till they were 8. Heck, my 12 year old molars were coming in while I was taking the SAT’s. She would then have that gap for 4-6 years.

I know, there are many more worse things.

It’s probably going to hurt/bother me the most.

🙁

My cousins lil girl has hers out b/c of some dental issues (the front two) and she is 4…it’s super cute lol

Dental work is always a pain regardless of age but at least she is young and her permanent teeth aren’t in yet because that would be a lot harder. Thank you for the note you left on my diary. Unfortunately there’s always worse, but i always pray that no one sees it. Cherish her. They grow up really fast.

Alex did the same thing to his tooth… he was about two and we still aren’t sure what happened since he never complained, just one day I was brushing his teeth and his top right tooth was dark grey. We took him to the dentist and she said it was bruised. It faded but it’s still brown/grey, she offered to do a root canal on it but she said it would just be cosmetic. So far no infection it’s justugly in pictures. He just turned five so I’m hoping he’ll lose it this year or next and get a healthy adult tooth.

oh… and my husband was adopted from an orphanage in Boliva when he was four years old. His teeth were so bad that they had to pull most of his baby teeth. The pictures are funny but he doesn’t seem to think much about it.

It might work itself out! Gabrielle has bashed in her front teeth 3x – bloody gums, loose teeth, infection the last time! – and she hasn’t lost them yet. I was sick at the thought too though, I understand! Ermentrude had a good point when we were between 1st and 2nd appointments when they wanted to yank her tooth. She asked why wouldn’t they treat with antibiotics? I never remembered to ask because it was draining by her appt and they said she would be fine. *hugs* hope it ends ok!

Well, if it bothers you, you can always get her a flipper or a bridge. Seems like more work though. At least it’s a baby tooth. If it was an adult tooth, you might have to go for an implant or something. Reminds me of the book, “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing” (if OD let me use html in notes, I would underline/italicize that properly, but we’ll have to settle for quotes b/c they’re better than nothing!) because the kid’s teeth get knocked out when he’s like 3. My teeth were really slow coming in, too. They finally had to pull my last baby teeth when I was 14. I felt stupid as a 4th grader with my two front teeth missing.

I hate dentists and avoid them now at all costs. I just hate them. First I hate them .. and secondly they are just crooks. Enough said. But I hope that your little one will be fine. It really isn’t a big deal in her case as she will get her permanent teeth in the future. Hope you have a good week ahead. Take care.

Eric had something on his front tooth the other day and I had thought it was broken. My heart dropped when I thought about his cute little tooth broken. Thankfully I was just seeing things.

I have another Gymboree order on the way. Shorts/shirt for my two kids and Davis. Camo hats for Eric, Davis and Carson and footed PJ’s for Chrissy’s baby on the way. Eric has been blogging a little, but I couldn’t get a blog here…..their e-mails never came through. So he is ericb at bloopdiary. He asks about Eliana all the time now. He wants to see pictures of what she’s been up to.

Is it a baby tooth though? Thank God if it is just a baby tooth! I had to have two teeth pulled when I was a kid. It’s the permanent teeth that I worry about having to pull, LOL. They don’t come back! But of course, if you have the money, even those can be replaced nowadays. She is a smart girl! I’ll bet that lady thought she was a lot older than she is because she’s so talented and smart!<br> By the way, did I ever thank you for introducing me to the Dog Whisperer? I probably did, but that has been my favorite show for a good while now and I have really enjoyed learning from Cesar. Thank you sooooo much for telling me about him. He has been a gift. And my dogs are so much better because of him!

Hopefully it’ll not be too traumatic for her – and it’ll be replaced before too long. 🙂

RYN: I actually had 2 people tell me to check out the clouds. I didn’t know that I was missing so much. I really am not a cloud person … they are just there and they usually rain on me. Oh well .. maybe someday when I am old and have nothing else to do I will try it. Have a good week ahead. Take care.

This is hard on a mom..to know our kids are going through something out of the ordinary..it nearly kills us. I know (all moms do) how this feels. She is a beautiful girl that will look cute no matter how long she has a gap!!

I CRIED when I found out she was going to have the tooth pulled… But in the end, we made a big deal of it, I bought her a special Tooth Fairy pillow from Etsy, I got her a present and a dollar bill for her piggy bank, and she was super excited about the whole thing. It was harder on me than anyone else. Now, the worst thing is all the people asking her what the Tooth Fairy gave her, which makes her aware of it and put her (maybe dirty) fingers in her mouth. I admit, I still wish she’d kept the tooth, but it could be worse…. Claire got her baby teeth on the early side, and I hope the same will be for her adult teeth – but I don’t even know if there’s a relationship….
