new slipcover*comparisons

[]

my mom and i went shopping today. it didn’t last long because every store we went in kept losing hydro! it was windy and slightly rainy but it was really affecting the whole town. i did manage to buy this…

now, if i ever get my Ikea chairs, my living room will look great.

(i want 2. i wonder if they come in a more beigy cushion.)

i think i need some cushions or throws with more pazazz though. maybe in green because green is my main accent colour (orange is too–i try to have all the colours from the rest of the house in the living room–tying it all together) in the living room (the curtains are green.)

tomorrow morning, we are meeting my parents in town (10 minutes from here) for the santa claus parade. it comes to our town but not until nighttime and it seems to have petered out by the time it gets here (it hits a couple other towns first.) afterwards, my mom is giving me a ride home because dennis has to go into work.

i think i will put my camera in my purse right now so that i don’t forget it.

dennis is getting a movie right now (i wish he were painting. he says he will tomorrow morning before we go to the parade.) we got invited to a friends’ but i wanted a night in with the family. if i leave the house tonight, i want to be shopping. that’s not happening, so…

EDIT* side by sides old and new versions. this room is really dark and it brightens things up a little (and it seems to help keep the cushions in–they always slip.) 🙂

I like the slip covers… they r nice. We’re getting the storm now, but I think its died off, so far we’ve just gotten winds. Have fun at the parade, that sounds interesting.

I have that slip cover in sage green. It’s in some box somewhere. We used it very briefly. They’re nice though! Enjoy your movie tonight! RYN: We HOPE to be done, yes. I’ve really never had the urge to have a very big family. Not the 2 kids is “big” but we’ve been in agreement since before he ever came along, one would probably be enough for us. Can’t predict the future, but ya know.

ryn: 4 yrs old seems young for tutoring to us but i think in their culture it’s normal, especially given the circumstance – they will only be in the states for a limited time and i think they want to give their kids the most exposure to the language / culture before they leave. I don’t think they pressure their kids i think they’re just into learning. I tutored in their house and i could see booksand books everywhere, as well as toys, but only one tv. Most of my other students have at least three tvs and videogames galore but no books. I think the mom is a stay at home mom too. RE: the ringworm – you’re right it’s not too funny, i have a terrible (sometimes shameful) sense of humor and i guess what was funny to me was (A) that i thought it was another one of my students’ silly complaints and it took someone in the office probably five seconds to recognize it was ringworm (so the humor is me being a dingbat), and (B) i amuse myself that i’m actually excited about a student being absent whereas most teachers would probably feel bad.

RYN: Yeah! We call it electricity or power, either one. LOL kristen

The couch looks great:) RYN: I don’t know, I think Rue Morgue is some kind of rock/heavy metal music-horror movie magazine. I’ve never looked at it lol
