The value of (some) opinions…

About every week or two, I receive a request from an firm to take part in an online survey or evaluation targeted to healthcare professionals.  They usually take 10-15 minutes to complete, and pay $50-75.  Quite often, they lead to a live follow-up call that pays $175/hr. I’ve apparently gained some renown in the company over the years, as I now do 3-4 live calls a month.  The topics can range from healthcare industry trends, to evaluating a particular imaging modality, or discussing experiences with a certain chemotherapy drug.

Payments come into my account via electronic transfer 2-3 days after the survey or call, but in the last few months they offered the option of receiving an Amazon gift card.  On an average month I might see $600-750 credited, which I find much more satisfying than just having money go into a bank account.  I think of it as our “free” Amazon stuff, as when we want something, the shopping cart total is always $0.00.  Remembering when I bought books from Amazon, it amazes me how far they have come.  You find just about anything on there now!  One item I found a few months ago was a Lomonosov Russia Imperial Porcelain Beluga Caviar Dish.

My mood today is jubilant, as Lega (the League Party) did very well in yesterday’s elections, and it looks like a coalition government will be forming with Matteo Salvini as new Prime Minister.

Sounds like an easy gig. I do 3-4 consumer marketing focus interviews a year with a local firm. I am not sure how I got on their list, but i have given my opinion on everything from yogurt to a rental car chain that was desiring to change their marketing strategy. Glad your Italian government is coming together the way you want. I am rather encouraged by the new found desire of Italy to regulate their borders more. As I recall Lega is in favor of regulating the admission of refugees from the middle east that are causing so much turmoil in other EU countries.

@altair Lega is definitely focusing on repatriation of refugees. Too many have shown up in Italy with no skills, no job prospects. The anti-immigration support is very strong here.
