Feeling Guilty
Feeling guilty is a part of how I was raised. Strict Catholic, and they made you feel guilty about everything. But I am feeling guilty because it is a week before X-mas and I think I am done with all my stuff. I only work today and Saturday this week. I feel guilty for the people who are running around with their heads cut off trying to get things done while I sit here on my computer bored. I know if I was still at my other job I would be going crazy right now. But that was not my choice to leave that job so I guess I am not feeling that bad about it.
Still no snow here. I would like a little for X-mas maybe in the form of light fluffy stuff. One year it snowed all day on X-mas and it was the powdery white stuff that doesn’t accumulate. I felt like I was in one of those snow globes. That is the only way I like snow. It’s supposed to rain, snow, sleet tomorrow. I really wanted to go somewhere to watch the Packer vs. Viking game. But if it’s going to be crappy outside then I don’t want to. It’s only on satalite t.v. The stupide t.v. stations can’t get their act together and now it sounds like if you want to watch football in the future you may have to have a satalite with the NFL network. They cable companies around here who already charge way to much for their service as stabbing the satalites saying they raised their rates 300% to get the NFL channel. And we are listening to our customers who don’t want their already way to exspensive cable bills to go up anymore. Well I think paying more than $100 a month for cable is ridiculous. We have a little bit more exspenisve bill because we have a HD t.v. and you have to pay extra to get the 8 HD channels. Don’t get me wrong the HD channels are marvelous. There is no better way to watch t.v. than in HD. You can see the people’s hair on their arms it’s so clear. Also sporting events you can see the people like they were sitting in your living room. Seriously…it is great. But check with your local cable to see how much extra they charge for this service. They really stick it to you. How much are your cable bills around this country? We get maybe 100 channels for that price. I would be curious to know what other people pay. My girlfriend paid $18 up north and got 50-70 channels. I thought that was great. Different cable companies charge different prices. Our cable company is Charter Communications. But we have had Time/Warner too and they were exspensive also. We need to get another Cable company in here to give them some competion. So far I think Satalite is giving them a run for their money. But they are getting to be just as exspensive too.
Ok enough hooting about the old cable company.
Speaking of t.v. I watched the last episoid of Everest where they follow the climbers up there. Very interesting. I thought the view was beautiful, but I think what they really figured out was getting up to the summit was the easy part. You still have to come back down. And it takes 9-12 hours to come back down and about just as long to go up. But they had some spectacular footage once they got up there. And not one person who was up there and made it down didn’t have frostbite of some sort. Their fingers or toes were really effected. They had the guy who was the first double amputee to make it all the way up. But he had to have a ride down because his stubs were so worn and blistered and he was bleeding so bad. What some people won’t do to make their dreams come true. And they only have a two week period each year where they can climb up there. But the whole trip is like 6-8 weeks long. You have to climb so high and then stay there for a couple of weeks to get your lungs used to air that is much thinner. No planes or helicopters can fly after a certain height so when you get so high and you can’t make it down you die right there. They showed alot of dead climbers just where they died. No body can bring them down it’s too dangerous. Also on one guys decent he came across a guy dying and couldn’t help him. It was way to dangerous, so the man died right on the path up to the mountain. The guy that found him was having a really hard time dealing with the fact that he had to leave him up there or risk dying himself.
The whole series is supposed to be on the National Geographic Channel on SAturday I believe so if you want to see all the episoides look for it in your local listings. Definately worth watching if you like documentaries. And I do.
Well time for some lunch and do my hair and head off to work for a few hours.
Have a wonderful holiday season. Enjoy good food and good company.

I’m not looking forward to the weather we’re supposed to be getting the next couple days. Wouldn’t mind the light fluffy snow, but rain-turning to ice and snow mix doesn’t sound pleasant at all! Don’t feel guilty for all of us still running around getting stuff, we brought it on ourselves!! LOL 🙂 Actually, I think I’m done buying, now I just have to find the ambition to wrap it all! Ugh! Ihate wrapping. I just can’t comprehend dying to climb any mountain. I’m watching a lot of news items about the 3 climbers on Mt. Hood. Gah.
