Official Portrait

I’ve been meaning to somehow get a picture of Catherine and me up here to show you all, mainly because I carry a picture of us around anyway and show anyone who seems half-interested. So now I’m doing that for anyone who reads this and is half-interested in seeing what we look like.

I’ve set up, in the tradition of Grungepappy among others, a public photo album where I’ll stick up various pictures I’d otherwise put here. Maybe it’ll grow, maybe it’ll stay as it is. But it’s there now, so just click on this link and select “FOD stuff” and feast your eyes on all…..three images. So far.

Two of them are reasonably acceptable pictures of Catherine and me (I think I look way too bloated and Catherine has her own….issues with her picture but she gave me her blessing for this). The passport-type one is my favourite, and was taken when we were in Galway at the start of January. The second picture of us was taken at the train station before I left for Dublin after our ten days together.

The third picture is of an article about the O’Connell Street Falun Dafa (not “Gong”, apparently) meditators in Dublin. Chicken George & Friends, catching their death of cold on the cold ground outside the GPO.

So I hope you all enjoy.

You two look good together. You just kind of fit, you know? Sometimes I see pictures of couples and they seem somehow mismatched, or just ill at ease with one another. But I like these pictures, there’s a casual kind of appearance of deeper intimacy. If that makes any kind of sense. And in the chicken george piece, do people believe they are actually worshipping the spire itself?

Hi Joe, How are you? Well, I don’t need to ask cos you are doing very well. You’ve got a new job (I must have missed that) and you’ve got Catherine. So you are doing very nicely thank you very much! What? Jealous? Me? Why should I be jealous? I’m a 60-year-old with no job and and I don’t have Catherine. I don’t see anything to be jealous about. HAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, there was an article about the spire in last week’s Sunday Times. I forgot to read it but I still have the paper so I’ll read it later. You look like a guy I knew some years ago but it can’t be you because you would be a toddler then. Well, maybe you looked like that when you were a toddler. so it could have been you. Man, for a toddler you couldn’t half smoke and drink. Pull birds, too
