more thoughts on evolution vs. Creation
Back in the day, way back, there was no theory of evolution, and everybody accepted Creation as the way life came to be. But then, curious minds set out to find a different explanation and discovered evolution. At first, the theory of evolution was met with strong opposition; so much so that it was forbidden to be taught in public schools, and Creation was still the prominent belief at that time. Then the theory of evolution picked up steam, gaining supporters and winning a place in the classroom, to the point where now it is the commonly accepted explanation for life as it exists today. My question is, if Creation is the truth, then why are Creationists the ones scrambling to convert people to their belief, constantly putting out books and pamphlets to attempt to prove evolution wrong, when they at first were the majority? It seems to me that the if a commonly accepted belief or explanation is in time replaced by a new, different theory, then it was probably wrong to begin with. For example people used to think the Earth was the center of the universe, and the first scientists who proposed it was not were forced to renounce their beliefs, whereas today, everybody knows the Earth orbits the sun, which is part of the Milky Way galaxy, which is only one of thousands, or millions, that make up the universe. Isn’t the theory of Creation being replaced by the theory of evolution in much the same pattern as this? If Creation was, in fact, correct all along, why has it been unseated so dramatically as the commonly accepted truth?
