Solemnisation

Once again, thanks for all the lovely wishes

We reached ROM early yesterday as we have yet to do our verification and statutory declaration and it was stated we hv to do it at least half an hour b4 the solemnisation. So after the verification thing was done, we just waited outside ROM. The weather was hot and a few of us were sweating like crazy.

Seemed that now they only hv one room to do the solemnisation. Luckily we were the first couple to go in after their lunch time. So we didnt hv to wait very long. We weren’t exactly nervous but somehow, now thinking back, I cldnt seem to remember all the details. Haha. Anyway we did the solemnisation in Chinese becoz J’s father cldnt understd English well and he was one of our witness. My dad was the other witness. It was a bit funny doing it in Chinese probably becoz I hv nvr heard the vows in Chinese at all and so, I cant remember what I had said at all.

We went for some phototaking after that b4 going to a restaurant which was located nearby. My sis had earlier recommanded the plc to me as it was near to ROM and the price was reasonable. The plc seemed to be popular with wedding couples, guess it’s becoz they offer the convenience of solemnisation + reception together.

I went to J’s house after that as he wanted to shower and change. I had brought some clothes to change as well. Lazed ard in his house for sometime and in the evening, he brought me to Raffles Marina. We took a bus to Boon Lay interchange and then decided to take a cab frm there as it was getting late. Managed to get a little bit of the setting sun when we reached. He went there with his colleagues for lunch b4 and found it to be a very relaxing plc. Ever since then, he kept saying he wanted to bring me there someday. I do agree that it’s different frm other places. Quiet and peaceful. Can see the 2nd link and the sea. The only bad thing is that it’s really ‘ulu’ (in Tuas!) and not accessible unless you hv a car. We walked ard the jetty for those yachts and becoz it was dark, we managed to see many stars in the sky. Beautiful. I remembered the times when we were still early into our relationship, he used to point out certain constellations to me. But now, I think he had forgotten all the signs. Haha.

Seriously I dont think there is much difference although we r now married. Think I will probably start to feel the difference when we live together.

Hv asked his mum to search for a suitable date one year frm now for our traditional wedding but she said the lady told here it’s too early as she has yet to get next year’s calendar. So now, I’m putting everything on hold till she got the date.

Will start on my new job on 1 Aug. Need to get myself back into ‘working mode’ becoz I think I’ve gotten used to slacking this month. Haha.

Wednesday, 1423 hrs.

Congratulations!

congratulations! 🙂 u know even though u don’t have a date yet, but u can still do all the research and decide on some of the stuff, so that once u get the date, u wld juz need to make confirmations only. like we decided on the studio photo taking b4 we got a date, i started designing my invitations & wedding programs too, most impt of all, 1st thing we worked on is the guest list.i mean they

r tons of things, the list can go on and on. i wld talk to vendors & juz give them a rough date, like early next yr or something… the gd thing is that i can alwaz use that as an excuse not to make a decision yet, coz a lot of these pple, when u go talk to them, they wld keep pushing to ask u to sign the deal right there, so i alwaz said i’m juz doing research & collecting info right now, cant

make a decison yet coz we dun have a date, though some might say it’s ok the date can alwaz be changed but it’s better to sign the deal now b4 price go up again… but i wld alwaz say i dun feel comfortable w/ that. worst come to the worst i wld alwaz AL is overseas, i need to go hme & talk to him b4 i decide on anything 😛 since i checked everything out by myself, i alwaz pull out e card of

needing to talk to family or AL… cannot make a decision on my own… to get out of situations 😛 anyways, i’m not sure if it’s juz me or other pple r like that too, but to be honest, i dun rem much fr my wedding. sometimes i feel guilty actually, i mean pple alwaz say how unforgetable it wld be blah blah… but i really dun rem the details :s jj

CONGRATS!!!feel soo happeee for the both of u

ryn: ic, i guess u can still check out the stuff, and have a couple that u like in mind, so that u can budget urself better. & i know many children nowadays do not want to depend on their parents, but seriously, if possible, i think shld still try to find out if the parents can help out. oh & since u can get red packets in S’pore, items in the house, u shld wait till then to buy. jj

oh one more thing, shld try to tap into the resources of ur guests… u never know, u might find pple who might have connections to certain things tt might help u, like i found out from my aunt that the cook at our engagement restaurant goes to her church, though it didnt get us any discounts, but at least he made sure the food was good, even though we bought e basic package only. jj
