Of Work
Work has been ok but sometimes it can be quite boring when I have nothing much to do. My boss is on a part-time basis so she only comes in Mon-Wed. I realized that when she is not around on Thu and Fri, my work almost comes to a standstill. Becoz I’m still new and there are always things which I need to ask or consult her. So when she’s not around, I’ll have to shelf my things aside and wait for Mon.
She’ll be transferring to another dept in Nov. Said it’s becoz the workload here is heavy and she finds it unfair to the dept as she can only come in 3 days per week. Furthermore, she has a small child which is her priority and so I guess she cant really cope with a heavy workload. It’s a real pity becoz she’s a really nice lady and a lot of ppl have been saying that I was really fortunate to have her as my boss.
My boss’s boss (No.1) has found a replacement for her position. Seriously, I don’t trust his judgement. Or rather, No. 1 is a very different boss. He doesn’t act like a normal guy. No, he’s not sissy but he can be a little gu niang. He easily jumps around, be it big or small matter. He changes his mind easily. One moment he wants this, the other moment he wants that. His ideas comes and goes in a snap of finger. Anyway, he has only joined for a few months but ever since he joined, he has been recommending his ex-colleagues to join our dept whenever there are vacancies. Our turnover rate is rather high so the rest you can imagine urself.
I’m actually considering to get a new job. Seriously, I don’t think this is a job where I will stay long. It is a completely different environment from my previous job and sometimes I find it hard to adjust to it. Of course, I do have the confidence in myself that I am capable and that I can stay on if I want to. But I find that the work I do is not satisfying and it seems that ppl don’t really appreciate your work here. It’s like being taken for granted. Probably becoz of the nature of work ba. I mainly facilitate admin matters so it’s like so fundamental to everyone. Another reason is probably this work is admin based, so it lacks the human touch. My previous job was very human oriented and I think I missed that.
I don’t know if I shd start looking for a new job now. I’ve worked for almost 2 months. There’s no probation to this job, I only have to give a one month notice. If I leave now, should I include this job in my resume? It wont look good to be only working for 2 months. If I didn’t put in down, then I’ll have to explain what if I been doing for the past 2 months. Things will get even tougher if I leave a few months down to road becoz if I don’t put in down in the resume now, it’s still not so bad as it’s only for a period of 2 months. But if it’s longer, then it probably looks more "unsightly".
So, should I or shouldn’t I put it in my resume?
Sigh.
Hate the thought of needing to find a job.

hmm..if only u are applying for another admin job, then put this down. if not then exclude. besides, most employers are intersted in relevant experience so it only adds credit if it is. then u wun have to come up with excuses of ‘why u left’. hmmm still young la, if u r unhappy. u shd look to greener pastures….
