It’s been one week and I’m anything but barenaked

Warning… rant about the injustices of working in a newspaper newsroom… foul language is a strong possibility.

When the news broke about BNL frontman Steven Page I instanly read the news report and to my surprise I knew the two girls he was busted with. Way back in the day (more like 5 years ago) Christine Benedicto (then Christine Munn) headed the Chimes newspaper and Stephanie Ford was the entertainment editor, the section I wrote for. I sent the reporter some information that I knew about them (which one, if they had followed, would have brought them to a picture of Page and Benedicto together) and continued to follow the story from my seat. While other news sources located the information my lovely hometown newspaper sat back and twiddled it’s dink. Ah well.. what does it matter.. I’m just an Editorial Assistant, right? I’m one year away from a bachelor’s (which also happens to be their educational qualification) and I’m treated like a secretary. As is the class system at a small town newspaper.

In other unrelated news I managed to put in a good 61 hours of work this week. That might not seem like something extraordinary but keep in mind I’ve also been diagnosed with MS. I have been quite tired but I’m just holding on until I get used to it.

My car is in the shop and I put quite a bit of money aside (just in case they find more problems) and hopefully when the repairs are made it will pass inspection. The guy quoted me at $250 but just to be on the safe side I saved up about $800 (and I hope I don’t need it because I’d like to use that extra money to pay off some bills or maybe get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. heh.). Right now I’m stuck without a vehicle and I want to get out and enjoy my day. There is a local antique fair going on today that I really really wanted to go (not that I have the space for anything..) but without a car I’m stuck doing nothing (Kel did all the cleaning the last two days because he knew it would be the last thing I would want to do on my days off).

I found a beautiful colonial style house that I would love to own.. to bad I need a pre-approval and decent credit just to take a look at it. I’m working on it…

Well.. I’m about to wander off and do something…..who knows…
