NIV

Well, recently someone has brought it to my attention that sometimes i allow other peoples opinions to effect mine.  For example the New International Version Bible.  My grandpa is the preacher at the Baptist church that I have attended my whole life.  We only read the King James Version Bible.  He does not like the NIV because he says the NIV takes a lot out of the KJV and changes things.  I don’t know this for sure but I agree because he a preacher and I figure he should know what he talkin about.  But now i tryin to form my own opinion here and what I feel is that I know that in the KJV it states that if u are truly a saved Christian then u will understand the Bible and it’s symbolism and everything that goes with it, all the way, so i figure why do u need an NIV to better explain things if ur supposedly a true Christian….?  Plus I’m just traditional and I hate how the world is constantly modernizing things that they shouldn’t, like the Bible, it should just be left the way it is.  I won’t insult the NIV but my strict opinion is that it’s pointless and I just don’t see why it’s needed…

Technically if the bible was left the way it was it would not be written in english and you get soo much from different translations. I read out of NKJV, NIV and Word in Life. I’m PK, what can I say. (and as a PK, trust me, they’re far from all knowing)

Pastors that is.

i was about to say something, but te dude that noted first took care of that for me. if we left the bible the way it was it would be in hebrew/greek. king james was tampereing with the bible and redoing, and the only difference is that it was a couple hundred years before. but ya kno. its good to kno im not a true christian since i need the niv to understand things well 🙂
