Moving

Well, we are officially homeless. Have been so for about 2 weeks now. Right now, we are at my parents house. Matt has leave until the 17th, but we are leaving here to go to NC on the 13th. We have no where to live when we get there, yet. Base housing has a long list. We went to Cherry Point to check in prior to coming home, and we were #72. Matt called yesterday to see where we were at on the list now. We were at #73. Go figure. We moved down, instead of up. Someone else must have checked in with a control date before his. So, anyhow, looks like we’re going to need to find somewhere to rent. Ugh. I’ve had no luck finding anything online in the surrounding areas. Temporary lodging only had 2 days available for us to be able to stay there. They were full the rest of the time. Which means more $$ spent for a hotel in town. I’m concerned about renting cuz most of the places around there seem to go through real estate agents, and they probably won’t let us with our credit history. Plus, we have no rental references. Oh, and then there is the matter of having a dog. A lot of places also don’t allow pets. We spent too much on that dog to get rid of it. Right now it is staying at Matt’s brother’s. He lives about an hour from Cherry Point. But, they can’t keep the dog forever. This is the part I hate about military life. I don’t mind moving so much, it’s the not knowing where I’m going to live part that I hate. And, even that wouldn’t be quite so bad if we didn’t have a 2 year old to worry about also.

In other news, Derek has learned to climb out of the crib. So, looks like we’ll be setting up his toddler bed when we get a house. Also, I have sorta started potty training. He’s actually gone in the potty a few times this week. I’m not going to really work on it til we get settled in somewhere though. But, at least he’s interested for now. He’s finally starting to talk and learn some new words. I was starting to get worried about it.

Matt and I are doing well. I’ve been busier while we’ve been back home then I’m used to. Makes for one tired person. Plus, Derek has been getting up about 3 hours earlier than I was used to.

Anyhow, that’s about it. Until next time…

Wow, that has got to be incredibly stressful. :/ Good luck. I’m sure something will turn up.
