Growing Up

Things have changed in many ways for me in the last few months.  Many good and positive changes. 

I wanted my own car, so I got my own car.  I went to my father to ask his advice, which I have never done so with such a big issue before.    We went to the car dealership and checked out some very hot cars.  Then he gave me his advice and with some thought I realized on my own that I had to look at another option.  But I still got a car.  It might not be brand new, and it might be my mom’s old one but hey, its mine, I pay for it and she got a brand new car out of it, that I’ve been driving! ha ha  I guess we both won on that deal.

Scary as it seems, sometimes I find myself online looking for new recipes.  I will come back to reality and think to myself ” OMG, old woman, what are you doing looking up recipes?”  EEEkkkk now that scares me.  I can hardly boil water.  My menu consists of Kraft dinner, pizza and a rice dish.  Everything else I burn.  But slowly I have been coming around.  I have found some new recipes that I have been trying and ‘the boy’ has been a good guinea pig for them.  He’s liked them all.  Cooking was never a concern for me.  I didn’t care if I ever learned how to cook but god, Im coming around.

Another thing that is quite weird is that I couldn’t wait for spring to arrive so I could plant some flowers in the flower beds.  Good God, yesterday I bought a greenhouse!  Im not quite sure what my green thumb is gonna be like but so far everything I have planted from seed has come up.  I just keep picturing myself…god that’s scary enough! 

Months ago when I went to the mall, the first thing I looked at was CD’s and DVD’s but now I look at household items, dishes, pots and pans, towels, and pretty stuff…….and gardening stuff.  Strange.

I guess that I have come to the conclusion that I am growing up.  Im blossoming into an adult.  And to think “the boy” is most of the reason behind it.  I wanna be a good housewife….someday.
