A week in rambles and pictures
This past week has been so… great. I gave my notice to my boss and the other managers through e-mail (because it’s impossible to get them all together for a meeting without a ton of advance notice). It was short, sweet, and concise. My boss, Lisa, called me immediately after I sent it to gush about how happy she was for me and to tell me that she wants me to stick around in some shape or form. My last day as a manager there is going to be July 2nd, a Friday.
Aubrey, the manager one step above me, came clean to me early last week that she was also on the hunt for a new job. She gave her resume to a regular customer of ours who works for a company that sells printers and copiers to businesses on the very day that I had my interview with the insurance company. When I told her that I had also been looking and had already had my interview, she kind of panicked.
"But… if you give your notice before me then I’m going to get screwed!"
I giggled. I mean, I guess it’s kind of true. I’m now getting 4th of July weekend off, and she’s now going to be stuck working it with Maddie, our lead server who already has manager privileges but had not yet learned how to open or close the restaurant.
Anyway, it all came to a head yesterday- Aubrey was offered a job and gave her notice to Lisa. Her last day will be a mere three days after my last day. Lisa totally panicked, and it was awesome. In the end she decided to train Maddie in on all of the stuff Aubrey was doing, effectively making her GM, and to train in another great server of ours, Emmett, in on all of the stuff that I was doing, effectively making him assistant GM.
It’ll be weird two weeks from now going to work as employee to my previous employees. lol.
Saturday evening Dave and I hopped in his car and headed to northwestern WI with Meg, Dan, and Dan’s friend Andy to Dan’s family cabin. We had the most awesome time hanging out, grilling, swimming and boating around the lake, and sitting around the bonfire at night.
Here are some random pictures that I took over the past week:

Me… at work… wearing my new dress… that I later spilled wine all over. 🙁

My super awesome office. Oh yes.

Two of our sushi chefs hard at work on, as you can see, a super strenuous Saturday afternoon. lol.

Dan at the amazing magical automatic ice machine in a town nearby his cabin. Insert dollar… bag of ice comes shooting out at you at about 30 miles per hour. It was hilarious and AWESOME.
Us being drunk white sitting at the bonfire. I know, exciting. The guys were making fun of me because I prefer my marshmallows slightly charred. They thought that was disgusting.

Meg and Dan trying to get Dan’s dog, Bandit, to jump into the water. She was whining hysterically because the two of them weren’t standing on the boat with her. After some coaxing she finally jumped out and swam a bit.

I look greasy as fuck and disgusting (I hadn’t showered that day and this picture was taken prior to swimming in the lake), but this picture makes me laugh. Dave said, "Make a super happy excited face!"… I did this.
That’s Meg and Dan doing the same in the background.

Dan and Dave had a cannonball contest and then a… whatever this is contest.

Dave striking a pose at the mini golf place.
We decided to try out some go-carts after we finished mini golfing. It was my first time on a go-cart. It was so much fun!
My friends all refer to me as ‘giggles’. Are you now understanding why? lol.

Meg playing with a sparkler.

The boys playing with roman candles.
Aaaand that’s it for now.
That automatic ice machine looks sooo badass. I would have laughed so hard seeing a bag of ice shoot out at that speed. I probably would have paid for an extra bag specifically so I could videotape the shoot-out, haha! You look like you’re having such a blast. So glad your summer’s going so well! 🙂
