good day.

So I subbed for a para in the second grade [at Jennings] today.  I was basically ‘one on one’ for this one little downs boy.

He was adorable.

It was actually a prettie easy day.  He was completely mainstreamed, and rather smart, so he didn’t need much help.  I’m not actually too sure why they needed me… I’m positive he would have been fine a day without anyone.

There was this one little girl in the first grad e though who was a pain in the ass.  I was only in there for like half an hour, and she managed to shut down completely in that time.  And this isn’t even a special-ed kid… just a freakin brat.  Luckily I was only in that room for like an hour total all day, so no big.  But it amuses me that I spent all day with a special-ed boy with no problems [except that he seemed to prettie much hate math…], and within 15 minutes of being in the first grade classroom, and this ‘normal’ girl shuts down on me, and probably despises me for being a bitch.

Meh.

Definitely a good start, though.
