mer?

So I haven’t written it yet but it’s been a couple weeks or so…

My daddy needs radiation.

Aparently, even though the MRI came back saying the cancer hasn’t spread, some other test says that is highly unlikely.  I don’t know the name of the test, but they take 12 samples of of tissue, and rate them by number, then add the 2 highest numbers.

That number for my dad was high enough to be almost sure that the cancer has spread, so the MRI may have missed something…

So now he goes for some hormone therapy, and in March (happy birthday Leah and Mommy…) he starts radiation.  They do a ‘halo’ (that name will always haunt me……) around the area so that if it di spread, they will get it.

Hopefully it works, and they get everything.  And the only real side effect of the radiation is hot flashes (which my mom was just like ‘uh… and?’ about, heh.) so that won’t be so bad.

Well… yea.

But Frank’s not going to jail or anything… he got like a fine, and seems to be ‘turning a new leaf’ in the immortal words of my dear sister.

So…

RYN: March 20th is the offical “baby will be fully cooked” date. *hugs* about your dad. Things are sucking with mine too.

*hugs* Radiation isn’t the worst path he could take, and a low sample is a good thing. Dr. Glennman thinks he’ll be okay. In the meantime, however, I’m gonna hit your brother with a shovel for being a dingus. It was SO good to see you at Speer’s. We must be in the same place again soon. I’m going through Kitten withdrawal already…

Sorry to hear about your dad. I’m sure that he will pull through, and hey, maybe he’ll gain some superpowers from the radiation…it worked for the Hulk. Either way, I hope he has a speedy recovery.
