good songs
Well ive been taking in what cds have been in my car stereo the most in the last couple of months to see what ive been listening to mostly. So heres the ten albums ive been listening to the most of lately to give you a look into my music window.
1) Prince: Gold Experience. One of his 90s cds that never got the credit it deserved. This album would easily be on my top 5 Prince albums. I love Most Beautiful Girl in the World. And who could forget a song as catchy as P Control. Haha.
2) The Cult: Electric. Just bought this cd a few weeks ago and have been giving it some good listen time. Dont like it as much as there later albums or first album, but its still got awesome tracks on it. Little Devil and Love Removal are obviously kick ass. And theres a cover of born to be wild done cult style.
3) Depeche Mode: Music for the Masses. Again, just bought this cd. It was during Dave Gahans heroin days, and all the songs seem to be of a spiritual nature. Weird what drugs can make you write. I love "I feel you" and the ballad "Condemnation"
4) Smashing Pumpkins: Rotten Apples. This is there greatest hit disc, with every song golden. Really love listening to "Stand Inside your Love". Some people say that they were starting to suck near the end of their career, but those people dont know what the hell theyre talking about. Listen to Stand inside your love and youll see that they had the potential to keep on going. Infact theres rumors that they are recording right now!
5) Radiohead: Pablo Honey. I thought id give a break on the electronic Radiohead i love and go back to their first album. Although Creep was the only hit, i way more prefer songs like "You" and "Anyone can play guitar" If you love Radiohead but havent listened to this album much or in a while, give it a listen.
6) U2: The Unforgettable Fire. I also just got this a few weeks ago and it is in my opinion U2s greatest album. Not to mention that one of my favorite songs of all time is on this album. "Bad" I wish i could sing it, so impossible to hit though.
7) The Doors: Greatest Hits. I always liked these guys, but starting getting into them more on my last trip to Devins in California. What a great band. Jim Morrison is the man. All these songs are awesome and fun to sing along to.
8) Tom Petty: Greatest Hits. Gotta respect Tom Petty. One of the ugliest musicians out there, and yet probably one of the greatest. Seems like hed be a cool guy to hang out with and jam with. I love the song "Learning to Fly" and "Into the Great Wide Open." I wanna give his new cd a listen.
9) GnR: Greatest Hits. I love Slash. I think Axls a dink, but he definitly had something going on vocally. Again one of my favorite songs of all time is on this album, November Rain. How id love to play that ballad along with Jord and Dev.
10) Scorpions: Gold. I already did a rant on my discovery of these guys. When im in the mood for some guitar opera, i put these guys in and just listen to "Sails of Charon." Bands back in the day were so much better then bands now. I could learn any Nickelback song in a day no problem, i would take me years to master songs like what the Scorpions play. Damn you Nickelback!
id like to correct my depeche mode album. i meant to put “songs of faith and devotion” music for the massses is a different album. also good.
Warning Comment
Nice collection for a well-rounded rotation. As you know, I agree with your statement about new bands.
