put some pants on.

so it was a great night, tonight::::::……

we started by 5pm, did a little 4 wheeling. we didn’t get back till about 7:30 pm. while we WERE 4 wheeling she showed me an original homestead cabin – obviously broken down, and rotting. but where she lives is already 14 windy miles up a heal from the nearest state highway. half of the road to her little community is unpaved.

then to already be about a few more miles in the back country, following practically NO road, and to see a little homestead, i was surprised. i mean, there had to have been NO town, so these were true home-steaders living solely off the land. i highly doubt if they ever saw ANYone except themselves. that cabin, i swear, times my bathroom by four and you have the entire place. wow.just to think to survive winter in that thing – in these rockies? shoot. me. now. sorry, i’m a history buff, so i like to think about these things.

of course none of us had a gun (i don’t even own one), and when she looked at the ground and said, "ooo.. bear dung." my eyes were bolting under every tree and shrub, and images of a bear mauling us out here away from people in the middle of a forest came to my mind. i’ve always wanted to SEE a bear – because she says she’s seen like 3 in the past two years – from a safe distance, in an enclosed car that travels faster than bears. here we were in the middle of the forest ourselves on a tiny honda 4 wheeler with no ammunition and she see bear dung.

don’t worry, the only wildlife we were nearby (or at least seen) was mostly cows and deer, and then we saw a few grouse, and even a bunny.

i write a lot of fiction, and a few pieces i’ve done were on daunting forests (i like thriller type horror). but looking into the dark dark trees, endless, and darkening, i’d never, i don’t think, really been that close and just look and see how scary that could be. bears lurking around, in this area maybe a cougar… yeah. inside i was a little cautious this night.

after the ride, we were late for dinner so we had our own two burgers.

it was 8pmish by then, so we decided to watch a little jeeves and wooster. good stuff.

to be honest i didn’t pay attention to over half of the two episode, because her parents were practically in bed by the time (she was home from college for the weekend) the first episode was almost done, and well, let’s just say she’s been needing to be spoiled in terms of kisses 😉

i had 2 to 3 opportunities tonight. but it didn’t feel right. she was in the bathroom or wherever, and i could’ve said to their parents that i wanted to set up a time to talk to them. now i’m thinking about calling up her dad on the way back from church tomorrow night, as she’s going back to college – call up her dad and tell him i want to talk to him about my relationship with her.

i’m a traditional guy i guess, and i want to receive the blessing of her parents before i ask her to marry me.

the guy’s gotta be 6’5, bigger than schwarzenegger in his prime time. he’s got a sense of humor, and one of those guys that talks a lot – so not rude, nor does he come across he wants to hurt people, nevertheless, i don’t have a daughter, but i can imagine it’s never going to be easy to accept someone’s taking your daughter away.

she’s the last one unmarried, so that can mean either he’s used to it, or it’s all that much more hard – she’s the last one.

in any case. i hope i put the pants on, and ask him, because she’s sounding more and more ready to get married by the minute.

YAY! I’m so excited for you! And for her! Definitely a good idea to talk to her dad! Traditional guys are great!
