Predictions for 2028

Why 2028? I don’t know other than that’s the year when the Olympics will be held in Los Angeles. I used to really look forward to 2028. Part of the reason we built our guest house was so we could rent it out during the Olympics. There was such a premium on home rentals during the 1984 Olympics and I figured that it would be the same in 2028. But really, the way things are going in Los Angeles, and really the policies of the American fascist party driving the violence and chaos in Los Angeles, I do not look forward to 2028.

So here, in no particular order are my predictions for 2028

• 3 million citizens have emigrated permanently out of the country. Scientists, professors, artists and green industry leaders comprise the majority of citizens leaving the U.S. A significant brain drain threatens the closure of universities and research facilities.
• Great depression level unemployment.
• 1 million U.S. residents dead from preventable disease and starvation.
• Daily acts of political violence leading to further loss of life.
• 100 % inflation over 2025 prices.
• The U.S. defaults on its credit.
• The dollar ceases to be the global reserve currency.
• 2028 elections suspended.
• American Citizens arrested and detained trying to cross the border illegally into Canada.
• Food shortages are a common occurrence.
• Commercial travel unreliable.
• Frequent electrical blackouts due to failing infrastructure, domestic terrorism, lack of capacity.
