Did you know…
that (at least around here) microwave popcorn is 5 times as expensive as the regular, old fashioned popcorn you make in a pot on top of the stove. It’s true. And the stove-top popcorn is better for you too.
Shortest OD entry I’ve ever done. I think.
I never thought about it but it makes sense. I hope that you’re having a good week. xo

I bought a microwave popper that you can use to cook regular popcorn in the microwave with. It works beautifully, and cost something like $10. I’ve heard you can also use a paper bag, although I haven’t tried that.

I couldn’t find the regular, old fashioned popcorn in a grocery store the last time I looked and I had a very hard time explaining to the hired help what I was looking for. Even when they understood they were like, “why would you want THAT?” It seemed like just another “Dude, you’re OLD” moment.

I’m presently lusting after an air popper for just this reason. I don’t even like all the salt and crap on microwave popcorn.

I never knew that, but then again I never really buy popcorn anyway so I’m saving even more money! HURRAH!

Remember those air poppers? I used to love those. I wonder if they still make them. Great popcorn with nothing added.

i’ve never tried proper popcorn, id like to but cant find any… ryn: Wegener’s Granulomatosis, basically your own immune system begins attacking your own body (in his case, eyes, nose, ears and kidney) only treatment is to supress the immune system xx

They usually bring out the air poppers around the holidays. I got mine for Christmas one year and I love it as I will only it popcorn that way. I don’t like it from the microwave, or the stove. I eat it plain, much more healthier that way.

That’s why i buy mostly bulk dry stuff because just like the regular popcorn the dried versions are always a good way to save my money and have something healthy.

I love popcorn done on the stove. I just don’t have the right things to do it. I’ve found the old fashioned way to prepare things, usually tastes better in the end. Hugs! John

I totally agree. We always make regular popcorn in a frying pan on top of the stove – with no oil – but we put real butter on it after it’s popped. Healthy, delicious, cheap and easy.
