Not catching up…

Hi there.

The trip to PA went fine.  We went up for the whole weekend to a B & B in Ohio (right near the border, close to Sweety’s family).  The B & B was pet friendly, so we thought it would be cool to take the two dogs with us (both dachshunds – pics to come).  It would be fun for the dogs to run around in meadows and see horses and all that stuff, right?  Better than staying in doggie hotel, right?

Wrong.  Doggies didn’t sleep well because the room wasn’t home.  Doggies didn’t get to nap all day because we were always on the move seeing folks and visiting.  Folks with dogs.  Folks with dogs that our little one bit. Hard.

Our doggies don’t get to go on vacation anymore. Ever. Ever ever ever.

Then the Random Traffic Gods declared that the drive back would take 8.5 hours instead of 6.  Because of a nonsensical, unexplained, mysterious deadlock at the intersection of I-68 and I-70.  Out in the middle of nowhere.

Sweety has tests next week, we have a guest coming in for Fri/Sat nite, we have T conference planning meetings on Sat morning and our TG/TS support group summer cookout Sat nite.  So, not sure when I’ll get around to posting pics and stuff.

And the Tour de France started last weekend, Saturday.  Am recording it on Tivo at the house, as well as following it via streaming french radio while at work. Yeah, sort of ruins productivity for the morning, as it’s some degree of work to listen to very fast colloquial french with one ear while trying to write reports with the other. um…

okay, more later, but not real soon.  life is busy at the moment, just wanted to let all know that we’re fine and we did not kill the doggies.

Helen Boyd’s blog put me onto this one.  Not giving away the headline, you  have to go read it

RYN: I’m not sure where I got it. Probably pinched it from a forum somewhere. Pinch away, I’m not bothered (since that’s how I got it in the first place).

wow, a cuddly bat!

I was thinking of your daughter today. I don’t come to OD as much as I should anymore, did I miss an update on how she is? How is she? xoxo

Poor doggies. My cat loved the hotel room we stayed in while moving. She explored for hours then decided where she was going to sleep and nobody else was allowed on that chair. Thank goodness I have small breasts after that link. 🙂

i know FF is big but damn, don’t you look before you put on your bra?

Yeah, it can be hard on doggies. My family used to take our two on trips all the time, and the dogs generally enjoyed it, but there have been some times when it’s just been a pain in the arse, so we found a place that’s like a doggie sleep-away camp, where they have all fun activities for the dogs and things, and my dogs actually love going there.
